What is Oryx? (South African men's health platform)

Oryx is a South African men's health platform that connects men to HPCSA-registered doctors for energy, performance, recovery and healthy ageing. You complete an online medical questionnaire, have a video consultation with a doctor, and - if it's right for you - receive a personalised, doctor-prescribed treatment plan delivered discreetly to your door in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban.

How does Oryx work?

Oryx works in four steps: (1) you complete an online medical questionnaire, (2) you have a video consultation with an Oryx doctor, (3) if it's suitable, the doctor prescribes a personalised treatment plan, and (4) your treatment is delivered discreetly to your door. Everything is doctor-led from start to finish.

Is Oryx doctor-led? Who prescribes the treatments?

Yes. Oryx is doctor-led: it was founded by HPCSA-registered doctors, and every treatment is prescribed and overseen by qualified South African medical professionals. Nothing is dispensed without a proper medical assessment.

How much does Oryx cost?

With Oryx you pay for your doctor consultation and, if prescribed, your treatment plan, with all prices shown clearly before you commit. Treatment prices currently range from around R1,000 to R4,000 depending on the protocol your doctor recommends.

My Oryx

How do I create and manage my Oryx account?

You create an Oryx account when you begin your medical questionnaire. From your account you can update your personal details and delivery address at any time.

How do I close my Oryx account?

To close your Oryx account, contact the Oryx care team. What happens to your personal data afterwards is covered under our Privacy and security policy.

Medical Care

How is Oryx different from buying peptides or testosterone online?

Oryx is different because every treatment is prescribed by a doctor and dispensed through licensed South African pharmacies - not sold over the counter or on the grey market. Each product is sourced from regulated pharmacies and manufacturing partners and quality controlled per batch. Medical products bought online can vary widely in purity, strength and safety, with nobody checking whether they're right for you or where they came from.

Are Oryx treatments safe?

When prescribed and monitored by qualified doctors, Oryx treatments can be used safely in appropriate patients. Safety comes from proper medical assessment, correct dosing and ongoing monitoring - which is why every Oryx treatment is doctor-prescribed and supervised.

Are peptides and testosterone treatments legal in South Africa?

Oryx provides prescription treatments supplied only after a medical consultation and a doctor's prescription. Prescribing and dispensing medicines through a doctor and a licensed pharmacy is what separates legal, medically supervised care from unregulated products bought online.

Who can use Oryx? (eligibility)

Oryx is for men aged 18 and over living in South Africa. Whether a specific treatment is right for you is decided by an Oryx doctor during your consultation.

Do I need a doctor's consultation to use Oryx?

Yes. Every Oryx treatment requires a consultation: you complete a medical questionnaire and speak to an HPCSA-registered doctor, who decides whether a treatment is suitable and safe for you. If it isn't right for you, they'll tell you why.

How does an Oryx doctor consultation work?

An Oryx consultation starts with an online medical questionnaire, followed by a live video consultation with an HPCSA-registered doctor who reviews your history and goals. You tell them what you want to achieve, they recommend what's appropriate, and you decide whether to go ahead.

Who are the Oryx doctors?

Your consultation is with a qualified, HPCSA-registered South African doctor. Oryx was founded by doctors, and clinical oversight sits at the centre of how the service works.

What if an Oryx doctor decides treatment isn't right for me?

If a treatment isn't suitable or safe for you, the Oryx doctor won't prescribe it and will explain why, along with what else may help. You're never sold a treatment that isn't appropriate for you.

How do repeat orders and follow-up consultations work at Oryx?

It depends on your treatment protocol. For some treatments you'll need a follow-up consultation with your Oryx doctor to review progress before reordering. For others you can reorder the same or similar products up to a safe limit before a further consultation is required.

What should I do if I experience side effects on an Oryx treatment?

Most Oryx treatments are well tolerated, but if something doesn't feel right, contact your Oryx care team and speak to your doctor. In a medical emergency, call your local emergency number immediately.

What should I do in a medical emergency?

Oryx is not an emergency service. In a medical emergency, call your local emergency number or go to your nearest emergency department immediately.

Orders & Shipping

Where does Oryx deliver/ship, and how long does delivery take?

Oryx delivers to your door in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban. Most orders arrive within 2 business days, though delivery can take 3-7 days depending on your location. Because some treatments are temperature-sensitive, we may hold a delivery over a weekend to protect the cold chain.

Do Oryx treatments need to be kept refrigerated?

Yes, several Oryx treatments are temperature-sensitive and should be kept refrigerated between 2 and 8°C, and many are intended to be used within 30 days. Every order arrives with clear storage instructions.

Can I return my Oryx treatment, and what if it arrives damaged?

For safety and regulatory reasons, prescription medicines can't be returned or resold once dispatched. If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, contact Oryx at support@oryx.health and we'll put it right.

Privacy & Security

Is my information safe with Oryx, and who can see it?

Yes. Your personal and medical information is handled confidentially and stored securely in line with South Africa's POPIA law, and is available only to the doctors and care team involved in your treatment. Oryx shares only what's needed to deliver your order and never sells your data.

Can I access or delete my personal data at Oryx?

Yes. Under POPIA you can request access to your personal information or ask Oryx to delete it, subject to the medical records we're legally required to keep.

Is Oryx discreet?

Completely. Your Oryx consultation, treatment plan and deliveries are handled privately, your information is kept confidential, and deliveries arrive in discreet packaging.

What am I paying for with Oryx, and how do I pay?

What is Oryx's refund policy?

Does medical aid cover Oryx treatments?
